Iloilo private armed groups regrouping?

ILOILO – The Iloilo Police Provincial Office (IPPO) is wary of dismantled private armies regrouping for the May 2022 elections.

Police Colonel Adrian Acollador, IPPO) director, ordered police units across the region to be watchful.

One area he is concerned about is the town of Sara in the 5th District and other municipalities with stiff political rivalry.

“Gin pa-alerto ko ang chief of police ko sa Sara although I believe mga gentlemen man ang mga kandidato,” said Acollador.

He was referring to reelectionist Sara mayor Jon Aying and his two challengers – former Sara mayor Nepthali Salcedo and incumbent Vice Mayor Jess Salcedo will run in the 2022 elections against incumbent Mayor Jon Aying.

The IPPO will also monitor New People’s Army (NPA) while campaigning and coordinating with the drug personalities for their financial needs.

“Tanan nga possible nga matabo gina-monitor naton para ma-preempt naton ang ila plano,” he added.
