ILOILO – Travelers to this province from Negros Occidental and Bacolod City won’t be required to submit negative results of their reverse transcription – polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR) test, according to Gov. Arthur Defensor Jr.
The alert level of both Iloilo and Negros Occidental province is No. 2, he pointed out.
“Ako mismo ang nag-inspection sa Dumangas (port) sang nag-surge kita last time and I asked them ano gid bala ang mga tawo nga nagatabuk sa aton? That’s why we have an understanding of what protocols to implement,” said Defensor.
Most of the people from Negros Occidental entering Iloilo, he added, have work or businesses in the province, or are Authorized Persons Outside of Residence (APORs).
On Jan. 5 Defensor issued Executive Order No. 1, Series of 2022 setting guidelines to travelers.
Inbound travelers required to present negative RT-PCR test results regardless of vaccination status are the Authorized Persons Outside of Residence (APORs), non-residents from outside Region 6, returning overseas Filipinos, and returning residents.
From Jan. 6 to 10, Iloilo recorded 243 new COVID-19 cases. It also had 560 active COVID-19 cases/PN
