Iloilo province to have new district hospital

ILOILO – Provincial Ordinance No. 2018-191 converting the Mother & Child Hospital in the municipality of San Joaquin into a district hospital hurdled third reading in the Sangguniang Panlalawigan (SP).

Under the ordinance, the Mother & Child Hospital is incorporated under the Hospital Management Office of the Iloilo provincial government. The required plantilla of personnel and funds for these would also be created and provided.

With the conversion, the hospital’s maintenance and other operating expenses (MOOE) and personal services would be shouldered by the provincial government, according to SP member Marcelo Valentine Serag, chairperson of the SP Committee on General Services and Human Resources, and member of the Committee on Health and Sanitation.

“Kay sa subong ang mga empleydo dira sa Mother & Child Hospital ang local government unit sang San Joaquin ang naga-shoulder,” said Serag.

At present, the provincial government operates 12 district hospitals. These are:

* Aleosan District Hospital in Barangay Bancal, Alimodian

* Barotac Viejo District Hospital in Barangay San Lucas, Barotac Viejo

* Dr. Ricardo S. Provido Memorial District Hospital in Barangay Dalid, Calinog

* Don Valerio Palmares Sr. Memorial District Hospital on Alfelor Street, Passi City

* Dr. Ricardo Y. Ladrido Memorial District Hospital in Barangay Poblacion, Ilawod, Lambunao

* Ramon D. Duremdes District Hospital in Barangay Ilaya 1st, Dumangas

* Federico Roman Tirador Sr. Memorial District Hospital in Barangay Jibolo, Janiuay

* Iloilo Provincial Hospital in Barangay Rumbang, Pototan

* Jesus M. Colmenares Memorial District Hospital in Barangay Tingui-an, Balasan

* Ramon Tabiana Memorial District Hospital in Barangay Pungtod, Cabatuan

* Rep. Pedro G. Trono Memorial District Hospital on Garriel Street, Guimbal

* Sara District Hospital in Barangay Anoring, Sara./PN
