ILOILO — A 30-year-old man listed as the No. 1 most wanted person for statutory rape at the provincial level was apprehended in Cabatuan, Iloilo.
Operatives from the Cabatuan Municipal Police Station (MPS) Tracker Team, under the leadership of officer-in-charge Police Captain Mary Dhen M. Gerbolinga, served a warrant of arrest against alias “Reno” at around 3:15 p.m. on Wednesday, September 9, along Rizal Ilaya Street, Barangay Zone IV.
The warrant was issued on September 8, 2026 by the Regional Trial Court, Sixth Judicial Region, Branch 76 in Janiuay, Iloilo. No bail was recommended for the suspect’s temporary release.
Iloilo Police Provincial Office (IPPO) director Police Colonel Bayani M. Razalan commended the Cabatuan police tracker team for its swift execution of the operation.
“Our relentless campaign to pursue wanted persons is a testament to our steadfast commitment to effective law enforcement, the preservation of peace and order, and the protection of every individual and community in Iloilo,” Razalan stated.
The accused is currently in the custody of the Cabatuan MPS for documentation prior to his formal turnover to the issuing court./PN
