ILOILO – The Iloilo Provincial Capitol Press Corps (IPCPC) has granted the Christmas wishes of 35 children at the Home for Girls in Barangay Pungtod, Cabatuan town.

Officers and members of IPCPC, including Panay News, were at the shelter on Dec. 22 to hold the “Kasanag sa Paskuwa 2023” program and distribute gifts, food, and vitamins.

The IPCPC even prepared surprise games for the youth, leaving sweet smiles on their faces.

Fraye Cedrick Anona of Aksyon Radyo Iloilo, president of the IPCPC, said the IPCPC not only provides news from the provincial capitol and the entire province of Iloilo but also cares about the youth, even in simple ways.

Ang IPCPC wala lamang nagapabalo sang nagakatabu sa provincial capitol kag sa bilog nga probinsya sang Iloilo, kundi luyag man nga maghatag sang matam-is nga yuhom sa mga kabataan kag mapabatyag ang matuod nga simbolo sang Paskwa rason nga nagtulod sa aton nga ibalik ang bugay nga ginhatag sa IPCPC,” said Anona.

Anona also disclosed that the IPCPC plans to conduct different programs to help the poor.

The journalists thanked private companies and individuals who extended help to make the gift-giving successful.

Also present during the activity were Ann Rapunzel “Rara” Ganzon, Social Welfare and Development Officer IV and focal person of the Provincial Social Welfare and Development Office for Persons with Disabilities.

Corazon Cabrera, a social worker at the Home for Girls, expressed her gratitude to the IPCPC for making the children feel the holiday spirit.

The Home for Girls serves as a shelter for under-18-year-old females who have experienced abuse in any form.

The IPCPC, meanwhile, is composed of media personnel from broadcast, print, television, and online who are assigned to the Iloilo provincial capitol./PN
