ILOILO – Beginning yesterday, June 24, the provincial government started accepting applications for its Iskolar sang Iloilo Program (ISIP).
ISIP is open to incoming first year college students who are bona fide residents of the province.
The applicant must have a Senior High School Generated Weighted Average (GWA) of 90 percent and above.
He or she must have a plan to enroll in any of the following state university or college – University of the Philippines Visayas, West Visayas State University, Iloilo Science and Technology University, Iloilo State University of Fisheries Science and Technology, Northern Iloilo State University (NISU), and Passi City College.
A total of 125 scholars will be chosen or an allocation of 25 per district.
Each scholar will receive a monthly stipend of P3,500; a learning resource assistance of P3,000 per semester; on-the-job training allowance of P20 per hour; and a thesis/research assistance of P5,000 for graduating students.
Cash incentives are also given to graduates (P1,000) and those who earned Latin honors – P7,000 for Summa Cum Laude, P5,000 for Magna Cum Laude, and P3,000 for Cum Laude.
Who are qualified to apply?
* incoming first year college students with a Senior High School General Weighted Average (GWA) of 90 percent and above
* applicant’s annual gross family income is not more than P180,000
* bona fide residents of the Province of Iloilo
* applicant must have good moral standing in the community
* applicant plans to be enrolled in any state universities/colleges in Iloilo
There are two options to apply and submit the requirements.
Online
* Fill out the application form online via the QR code.
* Upload the following required documents such as Senior High School Form 138, proof of income, indigency certificate issued by Municipal Social Welfare and Development Office (MSWDO) certifying that the applicant is an indigent, Income Tax Return, Certificate of Tax Exemption issued by Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR), Certificate of Residency issued by the Barangay Captain, and copy of valid ID (High school ID with picture and signature).
Walk-In
* Properly filled out the application form.
* Attach the following required documents such as: Senior High School Form 138, indigency certificate issued by MSWDO certifying that the applicant is an indigent, Income Tax Return, Certificate of Tax Exemption issued by BIR, Certificate of Residency issued by the Barangay Captain and copy of valid ID (high school ID with picture and signature)
* Submit the above documents to: The Secretariat, Iskolar sang Iloilo Program, Human Resource Management and Development Office, third floor, Iloilo provincial capitol.
