Iloilo returning residents required to submit negative swab test result

ILOILO – It’s final: travelers cannot enter this province and other areas in Western Visayas without negative results of their reverse transcription-polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR) tests 72 hours prior to entry.

Gov. Arthur Defensor Jr. issued Executive Order No. 183-M, series of 2021 requiring such in response to surging cases of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) in Metro Manila and other parts of the country.

“We (Region 6 leaders) all agreed nga ma-require na lamang kami sang RT-PCR sa tanan nga inbound travelers,” Defensor said after a Zoom meeting with the region’s local chief executives.

Returning residents shall only be allowed entry if they are asymptomatic

They shall be examined upon arrival and those with COVID-19 symptoms shall be admitted in an appropriate facility for quarantine and treatment. Those without symptoms shall be free to proceed to their destinations.

Returning residents shall be required valid government identification card showing proof of residence. 

Notice of coordination (NOC) with the city/municipality of destination shall be required, too.

Returning residents shall be required negative RT-PCR test results for entry to the province; provided that:

* They shall be subject to health monitoring by their respective city/municipal health officers 10 days from arrival

* Those who develop symptoms within the 10-day period, shall be admitted in the appropriate facility for quarantine and treatment until recovery.

* City/municipal mayors may administer adjusted health protocols and quarantine measures, in the interest of public safety and disease control and prevention.

The order would take effect on Saturday, March 20.

For non-residents, here are the requirements:

* must be asymptomatic

* must be examined for COVID-19 symptoms upon arrival, and those with symptoms shall be admitted in the appropriate facility for quarantine and treatment until recovered; those without symptoms shall be free to proceed to their destinations.

* must have negative RT-PCR test results, provided that they shall be subject to the health monitoring protocols and quarantine procedures implemented by the accommodation establishments (AEs), such as, hotels, resorts and pensions houses, where they shall stay.

AEs receiving non-residents shall coordinate with the city/municipality on their arrival, and report on the administration of health protocols and quarantine measures.

Non-residents not staying in AEs shall be subject to health monitoring by the city/municipal health officers and BHERTs of the LGU concerned for a period of 10 days, or for the duration of their stay, whichever is shorter;

Non-residents who develop COVID-19 symptoms shall be shall be admitted in the appropriate facility for quarantine and treatment until recovered./PN
