ILOILO – Municipal Sangguniang Kabataan (SK) federation presidents in this province will elect new officers of the provincial SK federation on June 13 at the Iloilo Grand Hotel in Iloilo City.
According to Director Teodora Sumagaysay of the Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG) Iloilo, there will be an orientation prior to the election.
“Just like man sa municipal SK federation election, wala na filing of certificate of candidacy. A nomination is enough,” said Sumagaysay.
Positions at stake are SK provincial federation president, vice president, secretary, treasurer, auditor, and public relations officer.
The elected SK provincial federation president will serve as ex-officio member in the Sangguniang Panlalawigan.
Last week, the SK municipal federation president of Estancia town announced she was running for SK provincial federation president.
The 21-year-old Ma. Angelica Bianca Requinto is a graduate of Bachelor of Science in Entrepreneurial Management at the University of Asia and the Pacific.
Prior to joining the SK election in Estancia, she worked as quality management head of her parents’ hardware business.
Among other plans, Requinto proposed the creation of local youth development offices in municipalities and holding of a three-day Provincial Youth Congress./PN
