TAEKWONDO jins from Iloilo City dominated the poomsae and kyorugi events of the PSC Visayas Open 2018 at SM City Iloilo in Mandurriao district.
Justine Diasnes, Kean Bemazal and Nejoelem Alquino won gold medals in poomsae boys. Aiken Avaricio, Miguel Naferete and Denzil Palompon bagged silver while Raphael Perillo, Jake Nemigo and Jarius Lagon took home bronze.
Abigail Marie and Angeli Marie Perillo and Cindy Joy Diasnes won gold in poomsae girls. Mariel Siscar, Elisha Aguilar and Sophia Tungala took home silver while capturing bronze were Kristie Siscar, Janina Samantha and Elainne Borres.
In poomsae 11-13 girls, Samantha Roco, Sherieme Hostillo and Elisha Aguilar won gold medals. Princess Parado, Carmela Perez and Kyte Descutido had silver while Artha Taganon, Chloe Tangsiongco and Ayezza Guim had bronze.
In kyorugi 16 under boys, taking gold were John Paolo Agapalo, Jay Celiz and Densil Palonpon; Ghee Ban Silla and Aldried Horlador had silver; and Kyle Halcon, Lance Firmeza and Julian Tingson won bronze.
In kyorugi 11-13 boys, Mark John Marmar, Jake Maniego and Kean Barnazal had gold. Finishing with silver were Mark Batulayan and Justin Sabando. Rojohn dela Cruz and Xandrew Refugio had bronze.
In kyorugi 10 under boys, winning gold were Rufino Barato, Anton Palma, Alamech Palmares, and Justine Diasnes. Taking silver were Carl Batulayan, Jhian Gonzales, Lemuel Diones, and Jarius Tacsagon, and the bronze winners were Cedrick Palmes and Carl Artemiz Tacsagon.
In kyorugi 10 under girls, Kristie Marie Siscar and Mariel Sison won gold, Klysa Chin and Princess Maman took silver, while Lee Evan Go captured bronze.
Taekwondo in the Iloilo leg of the PSC Visayas Open was held on Sunday.
After the Iloilo leg of the event – held in partnership with Iloilo City government – the PSC Visayas Open will return to Western Visayas on Oct. 27 to 28 with Aklan as host./PN
