TRACK and field players from Western Institute of Technology showed their wares in the tertiary level of the PRISAA 2019 National Games athletics at the University of Mindanao oval in Davao City.
Ezel Divinagracia spearheaded WIT’s dominance with a gold medal in tertiary women 400 meter hurdles, while schoolmate Ronald Lacson bagged a gold in tertiary men’s javelin throw.
Also clinching gold medals for WIT were Jhonna Rose Sajonia in tertiary women javelin throw and John Francis Biñas in tertiary men’s high jump. Lorena Damaco bagged a silver in tertiary 100 meter hurdles.
Also winning gold medals for WIT were Arjay Mendrez of University of St. La Salle-Bacolod in tertiary men’s 100 meter dash and Dan Angelo Demontaño of Central Philippine University in tertiary men 100 meter hurdles.
Ilonggo Renzy Gamolaga of St. Therese-MTC Colleges, meanwhile, settled for silver medal in the tertiary men’s discus throw, while Edilyn Batiancila of USLS also won a silver in tertiary shot put.
Also with silver medals for the delegation were Thanya Ibasco in tertiary women’s discus throw event, while Antonette Jay Aguillon finished second in the secondary girls long jump.
In table tennis, the secondary girls team of Ilonggas Clarice Thalia Gomez, Clarissa Byeen Gomez, Ann Nicole Oliva, Levee Marie Oliva and Jan Ashley Vicencio clinched the gold medal.
The group of secondary boys of Ilonggos John Romel Baria, Rem Francis Caoyonan, Joshua Chavez, Allan Noel Gayoso and Nathan Kahli Macavinta also bagged a golden finish.
The table tennis women’s of Ilonggas Sharmaine Anecita, Lindsley Valeria, Mary Grace Bubongan, Frances Necole Caoyonan and Solocasa Kimberly and Negrense Mariella Mabaqiuao finished runner-up.
WVPRISAA also showed its wares in badminton with its tertiary men’s team of Negrenses Kerr and Kenneth Longno, Jaylord Nicor and Earl Joseph Carballo winning the gold medal.
The tertiary women’s squad of Iloilo Doctor’s College’s Sabrina Layson, Stacey Layson and Angelyn Nualla also went home with the gold medal./PN
