ILOILO City – Two wanted persons in Iloilo province were arrested in separate operations.
The 39-year-old construction worker Benjie Batuigas was arrested at 7 p.m. on Monday, June 12, in Barangay Malunang, Zarraga. He was a resident of the town.
Three arrest warrants for acts of lasciviousness with a bail bond of P180,000 and two counts of rape with no bail recommended were served against him.
Batuigas was the No. 6 wanted person in the province for raping a 16-year-old girl twice three years ago, according to Zarraga police investigator Corporal Alfred Mones.
On the other hand, 53-year-old Ramonito Mamon of Barangay Agcarope, Janiuay town was arrested yesterday.
Mamon was the No. 7 wanted person in Iloilo. He was served with an arrest warrant for murder at 1 p.m. in Barangay Panuran, Lambunao.
The court did not approve a bail bond for Mamon’s temporary liberty./PN
