MANILA – Emilio Aguinaldo College Lady Generals clawed back from a set down to defeat San Beda University Lady Red Spikers, 17-25, 27-25, 25-17, 25-22, in the NCAA Season 100 women’s volleyball tournament on Saturday at the Lyceum Gym in Manila.

Elizza Anne Alimen, a native of Iloilo City, tallied 15 points, including 14 attacks, as the Lady Generals finally entered the win column after dropping their first two games this season.

Lady Generals veteran Anne Formento said the come-from-behind victory is a step in the right direction as the team aims to turn their campaign around.

“Masaya kami kasi talagang pinag trabahuhan namin itong panalo na ito,” Formento said in a post-game interview. “Kahit na down kami ng one set, naniwala lang kami sa sarili namin na kaya naming maipanalo ito.”

“Hopefully, with this win, mas lalo pa kaming maniwala sa sarili namin na kaya naming maipanalo pa ‘yung mga upcoming games namin this season,” she added.

The Lady Red Spikers, with continue to miss the services of star hitter Angel Habacon due to an injury, suffered their fourth defeat in as many games.

Meanwhile, University of Perpetual Help System Dalta Lady Altas maintained their unblemished slate with a 25-12, 25-15, 21-25, 26-24 victory over Arellano University Lady Chiefs.

Jemalyn Menor led the way for the Lady Altas with 19 points from 18 attacks and a service ace, while Winnie Bedaña, Shaila Omipon, and Pauline Reyes had 13 points each as they improved to 4-0 record. The Lady Chiefs slipped to 2-2./PN
