ILOILO City – The Top 3 Miss Iloilo 2023 winners will represent this southern city in the national beauty pageant arena.
Miss Iloilo 2023 first runner-up Chloei Gabales will represent Iloilo City in the Miss Universe Philippines 2023 pageant. While Miss Iloilo 2023 Raniele Shaine Saulog will be the city’s bet for the Miss World Philippines. And Miss Iloilo 2023 second runner-up Tracy Lois Bedua for Binibining Pilipinas 2023.
The sashing event for the three Ilongga beauties was held at SM City Iloilo on Jan. 19.
The deliberation of judges as to who among them will represent the city in the particular national pageant took place after the Miss Iloilo pageant night on Jan. 18 at the Iloilo Convention Center (ICON) in Mandurriao district.
Gabales shared in an interview that, from the start of the competition, she has been aiming for the Miss Iloilo-Universe title.
She vowed to continue her advocacy, which is to promote business sustainability.
Bedua, meanwhile, expressed that she did not expect to make it to the top 5, but as an Ilongga and a native of Barotac Nuevo, she was thankful and honored for the opportunity to represent the city in the national pageantry, specifically in the Binibining Pilipinas.
Saulog, on the other hand, expressed her elation at being chosen to represent the city in the Miss World Philippines pageant. She also vowed to take the opportunity to further promote her advocacy for mental and emotional wellness.
Miss Iloilo replaced the Miss Dinagyang beauty pageant that, for many years, chose the city’s ambassadress of goodwill. It was first staged in 2020.
The first Miss Iloilo was Rabiya Mateo, who subsequently joined and won the Miss Universe Philippines title. She represented the Philippines in the Miss Universe 2020 pageant in the United States and finished as a semifinalist./PN
