MANILA – Ilongga volleybelle Glaudine Troncoso is moving to a new team ahead of the 2022 Premier Volleyball League season after coming to terms with the Cignal HD Spikers.

The HD Spikers announced the acquisition of the former Central Philippines University Golden Lions standout along with four other players via their social media accounts on Thursday evening.

Prior to agreeing to sign with the HD Spikers, the Ilongga middle blocker played for two years with the Sta. Lucia Lady Realtors both on its indoor and beach volleyball squads.

Troncoso was the second Golden Lion in the HD Spikers roster aside from Fiola Ceballos and the third Western Visayas-based player apart from Bacolodnon setter Ma. Arielle Estranero.

Troncoso is also among the Ilongga volleyball stars currently playing in the Gametime Invitational Volleyball League being held at the Pavia Covered Court.

Aside from the 5-foot-9 Troncoso, the HD Spikers also secured the services of veterans Marivic Meneses, Frances Molina, Jerrili Malabanan, and Maristela Layug.

Meneses, Molina and Malabanan recently got their release from the Petro Gazz Angels, while Layug was not renewed by her former team PLDT Power Hitters.

The five were the latest recruits of the HD Spikers in the offseason after coming to terms with free agents Graze Bombita, Gel Cayuna, Angeli Araneta, and Bia General late last year.

The nine offseason pickups will join the other HD Spikers holdovers in Estranero, Ceballos, Rachel Anne Daquis, Angelique Dionela, Roselyn Doria, and Klarisse Abriam.

The HD Spikers is coming off a forgetful 2021 PVL Open Conference season in Bacarra, Ilocos Norte on August 2021 where they only won one of their nine matches./PN
