MANILA – Ilonggas Jackie Estoquia and Dhannylaine Demontano of Sta. Lucia Lady Realtors-Centro Verde emerged as champions in the Pintaflores National Beach Volleyball Invitational at the Paraiso de Antonio, Sipaway Island in Negros Occidental.
Estoquia and Demontano defeated University of Negros Occidental-Recoletos’ Gelimae Villanueva and Kyla Gallego.
They reached the championship round after crushing the Philippine Air Force pair of the May Ann Pantino and Beauty Penila.
In the elimination round, Sta. Lucia Lady Realtors-Centro Verde defeated National University Lady Bulldogs, 21-19, 21-18, and Pontevedra, 21-5, 21-10.
Other participating teams in the two-day tournament were Delimondo-Bacolod, Sipaway, Sta. Lucia B, Philippine Air Force B, and Dipolog City.
The competition, which was supported by Gov. Bong Lacson, 1st District’s Rep. Gerardo Valmayor Jr., Jules Ledesma IV, the local government of San Carlos City headed by Mayor Rene Gustilo, Vice Mayor Criston Carmona, City Sports Office, Sangguniang Kabataan Federation president Pocholo Yuvienco, and San Miguel Corp., Inc., aimed at further developing the sports tourism program of San Carlos City./PN
