Ilonggo Bitoon leads Che’lu Bar to D-League win

MANILA – Chris Bitoon had another all-around game to lead Che’lu Bar and Grill Revellers to a 111-95 win over AMA Online Education Titans in the 2018 PBA D-League Foundation Cup at the Ynares Sports Arena in Pasig City.

The Iloilo City-native Bitoon finished with 23 points, seven rebounds, five assists, and three steals.

With the win, the Revellers moved up to second place in the standings with a 2-1 win-loss slate.

Jessie Collado had 19 points. Jason Melano chipped in 18 points, while burly center Jay-R Taganas finished with double-double of 13 points and 13 rebounds.

Holding to a slim 80-79 lead at the end of third period on Thursday, the Revellers started strong in the fourth behind Melano and Bitoon for a 98-88 lead on back-to-back baskets by Collado.

The Titans was able to cut the deficit to single digits but consecutive points from Taganas and Jeffrey Viernes allowed the Revellers to build its largest lead at 111-93 on a triple by Bitoon.

For the Titans, Ilonggo Domark Matillano top-scored with 24 points and eight rebounds while Owen Graham had double-double 15 points and 13 rebounds.

The Titans suffered its third straight defeat to stay at the cellar at 0-3.

In the other match, Go for Gold Scratchers continued its winning run with a 92-83 victory over Centro Escolar University Scorpions.

Gabriel Banal fired double-double 21 points and 10 rebounds, while Vince Tolentino had 20 markers for the Scratchers, which improved to 3-0 win-loss slate. The Scorpions dropped to 1-2./PN
