MANILA – Ilonggo guard Clint Doliguez will be one of the new additions for the Rain or Shine Elasto Painters in the 2020 PBA season after agreeing to a two-year rookie deal with the team.
Elasto Painters head coach Carlos Garcia confirmed the signing of the Iloilo City-native Doliguez after selecting him as the sixth overall in the 2019 PBA Rookie Draft.
Doliguez previously played for Hua Siong College of Iloilo Red Phoenix before bringing his talents to the Ateneo Blue Eagles and San Beda University Red Lions.
Also inking a two-year rookie contract with the Painters is former Blue Eagles gunner Adrian Wong, as well as big men Rashleigh Rivero and Vince Tolentino.
Among the Elasto Painters veterans, stretch-five big man Jewel Ponferrada was gifted a a three-year contract extension, while reserve forward Sidney Onwubere was inked to a one-and-a-half-year deal.
For Chris Exciminiano, meanwhile, his two-year contract extension was put on hold after he suffered a ruptured Achilles injury while playing in the “ligang labas” that will keep him out for the rest of the year.
The veteran guard Ryan Araña, who previously played for the Elasto Painters, has been signed to a one-conference contract by the club to temporarily take over the spot of Exciminiano./PN
