Ilonggo jins nab medals in Carlos Palanca taekwondo tilt

MANILA – Ilonggo taekwondo jins showed their way during the 2019 Carlos Palanca Jr. National Taekwondo Championships over the weekend at the SM Mall of Asia Music Hall in Pasay City.

Taekwondo jins from the Mark V. Pinggol Taekwondo Gym took home one gold, two silver and two bronze medals in the one-day event which is exclusive for Philippine Taekwondo Association (PTA) blackbelters.

Niesha Pequierda captured a gold in individual poomsae and a silver in mixed pair while

Cyd Edryc Esmaña and Joshua Cachero had a bronze medal each in individual and mixed pair, respectively.

Failing to capture a medal in poomsae event were Roices Decafe (ninth in individual), Roivic Decafe (ninth in Individual), Roycel Decafe (20th in individual). Cachero also placed sixth in individual poomsae.

In kyorugi, Ronald Kyle Pico was the lone medal winner with silver while Angela Joy Marie Bermejo and Xyrus Andrei Desierto settled for quarterfinals finish.

From the A Diasnes Taekwondo Gym, Anton Miguel Nafarrete took home a silver in grade school mixed pair poomsae, while Cindy Joy Diasnes had bronze medals in individual and mixed poomsae.

Kean Ryth Bornazal, Elizabeth Marie Borres and Alfie Diasnes failed to land a medal finish in their respective events./PN
