Ilonggo Ravena, Yokohama escape Mikawa in Japan B.League

MANILA – Ilonggo Kiefer Ravena and Yokohama B-Corsairs escaped with an 86-85 victory over Seahorses Mikawa in Japan B.League Division 1 on Wednesday night at the Yokohama International Pool.

The former NLEX Road Warriors guard finished 15 points, including two three-point connections, to go with six assists, three rebounds, and three steals as the B-Corsairs improved to a 17-24 record.

Gary Clark top-scored for Yokohama with 22 points, six rebounds, and two assists, Kenta Morii and Koya Sudo added 13 and 12 markers, respectively, while Damiel Inglis ended with 12 points, including the game-winning basket.

Davante Gardner finished with 18 points to lead Mikawa, Zach Auguste added a double-double of 14 points and 18 rebounds, Yutaro Suda and Ryogo Sumino finished with 12 apiece. They dropped to a 28-13 record.

Meanwhile, Levanga Hokkaido rode on the hot shooting of Dwight Ramos as they cruised to a 116-78 domination over the Shiga Lakes over at the Hokkai Kita-yale.

The Gilas Pilipinas national men’s basketball team mainstay waxed hot with seven three-pointers for a career-high of 30 points as Hokkaido notched their second straight win for a 15-26 win-loss slate.

Ryan Kriener added 29 markers, including three outside conversions, Thomas Welsh had a double-double of 14 points and 10 rebounds, and Ren Shimatani ended with 12 points and 11 assists for Levanga.

Brock Motum finished with 27 points and seven rebounds, while former PBA import Markeith Cummings contributed 13 markers as the Lakes remained in last place with a 4-36 win-loss record.

Ariel John Edu and Nagasaki Velca (19-22), on the other hand, prevailed over Bobby Ray Parks Jr. and Osaka Evessa (21-20), 83-70, over at the Asue Arena Osaka.

Edu recorded six points, five rebounds, and one assist in 28 minutes of action for the Velca, while Parks ended with three points, five rebounds, and four assists for the Evessa./PN
