ILOILO’S grandest festival gathered budding artists across the locale through a poster making competition which concluded Tuesday, Jan. 26, at SM City Iloilo in the city’s Mandurriao district.
Ilonggo businessman Johnny Young, who initiated the event, commended all participants as they have “found creative ways to offer hope amid the COVID-19 crisis.”
“By supporting our local arts scene in Iloilo we hope to increase the city’s cultural prestige, and we hope provide innovative ways to introduce more Ilonggos to art,” Young said in a social media post.
With their art materials and inventiveness, young artists have brought vivid meaning to this year’s theme “One Dinagyang, One Iloilo, Halad kay Sr. Sto. Niño.”
Twenty finalists were chosen among the submitted pieces. Three emerged on top, and the other 17 took home consolation prizes.
