Ilonggos bag medals in online dance competition

MANILA – Ilonggo dancers from Matias Balbastro Dance Academy-Philippines showcased their wares in the 8th Geraldine Darvin’s Dance Challenge Online Dancesport Competition held recently.

John Kevin Sabuero of the Iloilo City National High School notched three gold medals in the Junior Male 2 category of Solo Chachacha, Solo Jive, and Junior C.

Dana Angelica Galfo of Special Education-Integrated School for Exceptional Children (SPED-ISEC), meanwhile, nabbed three golds in Youth Female category of Chachacha, Jive, and Youth Female.

Zoe Alexandria Lanceta of the West Visayas State University captured two gold medals in the Juvenile Female 2 category of Solo Chachacha and Solo Jive, and silver in Juvenile C.

Mary Ysabelle Cartagena of SPED-ISEC also bagged two gold medals in Junior Female 1 of Chachacha and Jive, and a bronze in Junior C.

Lanceta got another gold with Leanne Reign Lanceta of Iloilo National High School in the Youth Duo Female category. Lanceta, meanwhile, took home silver medals in Chachacha and Jive.

Joemel Jan Yap Magallanes of the SPED-ISEC and John Michael Laniog Tamudtamud of Iloilo National High School won the Youth Duo Male gold medal. Magallanes also had two silver medals in Youth Male Jive and Youth C.

Bryant Stefano Balsamo of University of the Philippines-Visayas netted two golds in Junior Male 1 of Chachacha and Jive, while the tandem of Bridgette Ann Libo-on of Central Philippine University and Galfo settled for silver in Youth Female tandem.

Kate Jaramillo, on the other hand, bagged two bronze medals in the Grade B Female and Duo Open Female with Jhanyn Gestosani.

Jay Alexis Gabrielle Sarate and Khaye Antonette Formon of Janiuay National Comprehensive High School, Therese Ann G. Gatmaitan of Colegio de las Hijas de Jesus, and Mizzy Jamelyn Napagao also participated in the virtual tournament.
