MANILA – Dancers from the Matias Balbastro Dance Academy-Philippines harvested medals in the online tournament of the recently held First Annual Diamond Dancesport Competition 2021.
Bryant Stefano Embalsado of University of the Philippines-Visayas notched three gold medals in the Junior D Male Latin, Junior Solo Male (Chachacha), and Junior Duo Male Latin with John Kevin Sabuero of Iloilo City National High School (ICNHS).
Leanne Reigh Lanceta of Iloilo National High School (INHS) bagged two gold medals in Youth B Female Latin and Youth Duo Female Latin with Mary Ysabelle Cartagena of Special Education-Integrated School for Exceptional Children (SPED-ISEC). Lanceta also won a silver medal in the Youth C Female Latin.
Joemel Jan Yap Magallanes of the SPED-ISEC and John Michael Laniog Tamudtamud of INHS nabbed gold in Youth Duo Male Latin. Magallanes also had silver medals in Youth B Male Latin and Youth C Male Latin.
Zoe Alexandria Lanceta of West Visayas State University reaped gold medals in Juvenile C Female Latin and Juvenile D Female Latin, while Sabuero had his second gold in Junior Solo Male (Jive).
SPED-ISEC’s Dana Angelica Galfo grabbed a silver medal in Youth B Female Latin and a bronze medal in Youth Duo Female Latin with Bridgette Anne Libo-on of Central Philippine University.
Kate Michelle Jaramillo, meanwhile, seized a gold medal in Adult D Female Latin, a silver medal in Adult C Female Latin, and a bronze medal in Adult B Female Latin category.
Sabryna Hailey Gabasa and Syhara Jayden Gabasa capped the medalist for the Iloilo City-based dance academy as they netted a silver medal in the Junior Duo Female Latin.
“I am proud with the way our dancers perform here in this online competition. This is our second event of the year nang Dancesport community,” Matias Balbastro Cu Tanco told Panay News./PN
