Ilonggos score medals in online dance tournament

MANILA – Ilonggo dancers from the Matias Balbastro Dance Academy-Philippines showcased their wares during the 3rd Central Luzon Central Ball 2021 held online over the weekend.

Zoe Alexandria Lanceta of West Visayas State University captured three gold medals in the Juvenile category of the Juvenile C female, Solo Chachacha and Solo Jive.

John Kevin Sabuero of the Iloilo City National High School (ICNHS) notched three golds in the Junior C male, Solo Chachacha and Solo Jive while Mary Ysabelle Cartagena of Special Education-Integrated School for Exceptional Children (SPED-ISEC) bagged three golds in the Junior female category.

In the youth category, Joemel Jan Yap Magallanes of SPED-ISEC garnered five gold medals in the Youth C male, Solo Chachacha, Solo Jive, Youth Duo 2 and Youth Duo 3 dance.

Leanne Reigh Lanceta of the Iloilo National High School (INHS) took home two gold medals in the Youth C female and Dance Female Duo; Dana Angelica Galfo of SPED-ISEC got two golds in Solo Chachacha and Solo Jive; and John Michael Laniog Tamudtamud of INHS nabbed two golds in Youth Duo 2 and Youth Duo 3 dance.

In the Junior C/Youth C female category, Cartagena and Reigh Lanceta of INHS tallied two silver medals each, while Leanne Dana Angelica Galfo of SPED-ISEC seized a silver medal.

Jay Alexis Gabrielle Sarate of Janiuay National Comprehensive High School (JNCHS), meanwhile, had a bronze in the Youth Duo 2, while landing fifth in Youth Jive, sixth in Youth Chachacha and semifinalists in Youth C male.

Others who participated in the online dance tournament were Khaye Antonette Formon (JNCHS), China Lynn Mamar (ICNHS) and Therese Ann G. Gatmaitan (Colegio de las Hijas de Jesus).
