
ROXAS City – Athletes of ILOPRISAA continued hauling gold medals in the second day of the 2020 Western Visayas Private Schools Athletic Association (WVPRISAA) Meet on Tuesday.
ILOPRISAA-Central Philippine University Golden Lions clinched the gold medal in the secondary girls’ volleyball after beating NOPSSCEA-St. John’s Institute in straight sets fashion in the finals.
Among the players of the volleyball team were Railyn Alcarde, Athea Aposaga, Fiona Marie Arroyo, HeniaVee Celiz, Jane De La Cruz, Arianne Kew, Yvonny Pajarito, Shauntell Pido, Josline Salazar, Trixie Sampiano, Gabrielle Sasuman, Isobel Alcantara, Clarisse Cordero and Ana Rose Vergara.

The Iloilo delegates also showed their ways in the karatedo event with their secondary girls. Hyacinth Polido won two gold medals in the individual kumite and team kumite, Athea Xara Sinepete netted gold in team kumite and silver in individual kumite, Mylz Pasamante also had a gold in team kumite and silver in individual kata, while Angelie Enano snapped gold in individual kumite and silvers in individual kumite and individual kata.
In the secondary boys’ karatedo, Aron Xaner Sinepete, Corvi Salcedo and Joshue Vicente Guillen obtained two golds each in individual and team kumite events, while Richard Guillen had a gold in team kumite and a silver in individual kata.
In the women’s karatedo, Arlene Sorbito and Therese Marie Maguliman bagged two golds each in individual and team kumite, Angela Superales and Laire Consuela had two golds, respectively, in team kata and team kumite, Jeenie Marey Lobo and Kimberlie Fuentes each won a gold medal in individual kumite, while Angel May Abatayo won a gold in team kata.
In the athletics, meanwhile, ILOPRISAA’s Aaron Guarizo, David Cubar, Dexter Pueblo and Ed Alfred Golez Ferrer captured gold in the 4×100 relay. Ferrer also ran for a silver in the 100 meter dash, while John Paul Solas and Russel Thornton ended with bronze medals.
ILOPRISAA swimmer Kyla Soguilon was also a standout after capturing seven gold medals in the seven secondary girls swimming events. ILOPRISAA also bagged gold in the tertiary sepak takraw after beating NOPSSCEA in the finals, 2-0./PN
