ILOPRISAA overall ISSC Meet champ

ILOPRISAA was hailed as the overall champions in the elementary and secondary category of the 2018 Iloilo School Sports Council Meet, which closed Sunday at the Iloilo Sports Complex.

ILOPRISAA was the overall winner in the secondary category with 66-31-5 gold-silver-bronze medals followed by CDSA 5 with 30-42-45 and CDSA 3 with 23-48-58.

In elementary category, ILOPRISAA captured the overall title after taking home 46 golds, 52 silvers and 15 bronze medals. Runners up are CDSA 3 with 33-12-22 and CDSA 2 with 19-31-26.

ILOPRISAA secondary taekwondo jins were impressive in kyorugi with golds from Lance Izaak Firmeza (-48 kg), Ronald Kyle Pico (-51 kg), Joshua Grecia (-55 kg), and Hanz Jardio (-59). Silver winners are Aldrienne Horlador (-59 kg) and Jhed Morata (+59 kg).

ILOPRISAA jins also had gold medal finishes in secondary girls kyorugi from Kyte Descutido (-44 kg), Rynne Sotomil (-46 kg), Elisha Venice Aguilar (-48 kg), Katrina Mamaril (-55 kg) and Mervone Nicor (+55 kg). Neliene Samson had silver -52 kg.

ILOPRISAA captured two gold medals in secondary girls lawn tennis from Althea Martinez in singles event, while the pair of Avril Suace and Rissa Cubos and Aleeva Suace and Dolores Hofilena also bagged golds in secondary and elementary doubles.

Lawn tennis players from the Iloilo City Schools, meanwhile, captured two gold medals from Marben Mosquera in secondary boys singles and Jerome Calixto and Rjay Borlagdan in elementary doubles.

Over at athletics, Edna Magtubo of CDSA 5 captured the gold medal in secondary girls 3000 meter dash. Finishing with silver and bronze medals are CDSA 4’s Pamela Armada and CDSA 5’s Ena Canareso.

CDSA 5’s Glen delos Santos had a gold medals in 400 m hurdles, 4×100 and 4×400 relays and a silver in 400 m dash, while James Bandojo had a gold in 4×100 relay and silver in 800 m run. Roland Fajardo won silver in javelin throw and bronze in discus throw.

CDSA 5, represented by Barotac Nuevo, also won the secondary boys football by defeating ILOPRISAA in the finals, 3-2 via penalty shootout. CDSA 5-Barotac Nuevo was also a winner in elementary football./PN
