ILOILO City – With 69 gold medals in the secondary level and 44 in the elementary arena, for 113 in all, the Iloilo Private Schools Athletics Association (ILOPRISAA) reigned supreme, sweeping the overall championships in the 2016 Iloilo Schools Sports Council-Integrated Meet which concluded on Thursday at the Iloilo Sports Complex.
ILOPRISAA won by a landslide in the secondary level with its 69-28-18 gold-silver-bronze haul, as its closest opponent the 5th district Congressional District Sports Association (CDSA) took home 34-18-40 medals to settle with a runner-up finish.
In the elementary level, ILOPRISAA beat out the 3rd district CDSA (36-36-26) and 5th district CDSA (26-28-9), which clinched 1st runner-up and 2nd runner-up overall respectively, with an impressive 44-25-13 gold-silver-bronze showing.
Meanwhile, in special awards, the 3rd district CDSA was cited at the Most Organized, Most Disciplined and Most Eco-friendly delegation. The Best Uniform award was handed to the 4th district CDSA, as the 1st district CDSA took home the Largest Delegation citation.
In the volleyball girls’ secondary championship finale, ILOPRISAA dominated the ICSSC (Iloilo City Schools Sports Council) to score an 8-25, 23-25, 19-25 sweep and take home gold.
Meanwhile, ILOPRISAA squandered an early advantage in the volleyball boys’ secondary championship, before bouncing back to claim a 15-25, 14-25, 25-19, 30-28, 15-13 fifth set victory against the 4th district CDSA and claim the Integrated Meet throne.
