ROXAS City – ILOPRISAA taekwondo jins showcased their wares in the taekwondo competition of the Western Visayas Private Schools Athletic Association Meet (WVPRISAA) 2020 on Monday.
The Iloilo representatives dominated the secondary and tertiary poomsae and kyorugi categories by bagging a total of 50 medals – 35 golds, 13 silvers and 2 bronzes.
In the secondary girls’ poomsae, Elaine Margaret Borres and Cindy Joy Diasnes notched a gold medal each in the individual events before they teamed up with Elizabeth Borres for the team girls’ category. Borres also captured gold in the mixed pair event with Clyde Anthony Chua.
Meanwhile, in the secondary boys’ poomsae, Cyd Edryc Esmana and Joshua Cachero won individual gold finishes before tapping up with Chua for the Team Boys event.
For the tertiary men’s poomsae, June Draico Gantalao and Alfie Diasnes won their respective golds, and they also notched the team gold with Zacharay Aguirre. He (Aguirre) also added gold to his collection with Margareth Anne Aguana after they topped the tertiary mixed pair.
Roices Dane Decafe and Klarien Tambong, meanwhile, took home a gold medal each in tertiary women’s poomsae. The two teamed up with Aguana for the team poomsae gold.
In the secondary boys’ kyorugi, the gold medal victors were Raphael Lloyd Pico, Jed Anthony Morata, Aldriene Earl Horlador, Aldriene Horlador Bill Donton III, while bagging home the silver medals were Bob Matthew Villaruz, Ronald Kyle Pico, Laurence Firmeza and Mickael Cerbo and bronze medalist were Xyrus Desierto and Virgilio Tenefrancia III.
For the collegiate men’s kyorugi, Adriano Horlador III, Merson Nazareno, Pave Rynel Bero and Xyrus Ferrer notched golds, while Mark Sendino, Carl Jason Garino, Jericho Sorilla and Ralph Nicole Guaro settled for silver medal finishes.
Meanwhile, the girls’ kyorugi gold medal winners were Mae Anthonette Desalit, Janna Lucelle Ledesma, Sophia Grace Go, Kharla Saberon, Geraldine Mosquera and GN Robles, while Kirstin Osorio, Elisha Aguilar and Katrina Mamaril took the silvers. Jannah Velez earned bronze.
The women’s tertiary kyorugi gold medals were obtained by Estrelarryne Polla Ericca Sotomil, Arianne Pagharion, Cyril Aguirre, Mitch Nuevo, Therese Octavion and Czaryle Dinero, while Scarlett Alfaro Valencia won a silver medal./PN
