I AM currently in Puerto Rico as you are reading this.
For a much deserved vacation after being cooped up in the mainland USA since March 2020!
I’m not sure if you, my dear readers, expect me to write something about the Philippine Independence Day celebration this year.
Well, I’m just not in the mood for it.
***
It’s my joy since turning 50 to not give a f*ck.
To be a little cynical.
To give stupid people some slack.
If I can’t change the world, f*ck it.
I’m not giving up.
But I’m not killing myself over it either.
***
I’m still very patriotic as a Filipino.
More patriotic than most because I actually think.
And think smartly.
But in a country of stupids, what am I?
How much force and influence have I?
Still, I’m not giving up.
But I do give a damn.
Just a little bit.
***
I’m a Cory Aquino boy.
I’m very proud of that.
So I studied the Marcoses.
And I studied the Aquinos.
I studied Philippine history, and the histories and legacies of these two families, among many other political families.
And still, I am a Cory Aquino believer.
***
Ninoy said, “The Filipino is worth dying for.”
And he was assassinated.
I’m not sure now if she already knew she had cancer when Cory Aquino said, “The Filipino is worth living for.”
But she died of some colorectal cancer or something.
Last year, in the midst of the pandemic, while ministering to Filipinos, and especially the Filipino youth online, I said, “The Filipino youth is worth fighting for.”
Well, I’m still fighting for them.
Even as I sometimes fight them myself.
***
You see, when I say the Filipino youth, I have in mind the young Filipinos.
Gen Z, ages 6 and 24, born between 1997 and 2015.
They’re mostly clueless about the real world.
And kind of stupid people believing in zombie apocalypses, and always rallying to normalize some abnormal thing like stupidity, sluttism, prostitution, pornography, smut-writing, and generally almost anything that society has well guarded and moderated throughout the centuries because they weren’t good to people, and humanity.
***
We always had prostitution.
But we kept it in secret.
Or we turn the blind eye because it’s immoral.
Most of our laws still say that they are illegal.
And today, this whole generation of idiots are crying for the normalization of sex work.
Legalization of prostitution.
Protection and welfare services for our sex workers.
***
Suddenly, these prostitutes have to have rights that are to be respected.
Well, f*ck that!
If I’m paying some prostitute, they have to understand that I’m using them as sex objects, as animals.
Not as people.
I will not pay a person with human rights to suck my d*ck.
His/her rights end where my penis begins!
***
So yeah, I fight these stupid Internet warriors online.
Don’t worry, I have the time.
I mean, if I don’t deal with them, who will?
But sometimes, it can be tiring.
I’m 52 years old.
And I need my vacations.
And I need to think about other things in the world.
And I need to cry for my beloved country.
And i need to see what else I can do other than responding to shitty ideas on the Internet that is totally corrupting the minds of the Gen Z.

So, June is also (Gay) Pride month.
And I really don’t want to identify with the whole alphabet of the gay community anymore.
From just plain gay, they went on to become lesbians and gays, to LGBT, to LGBTQ; and after LGBTQIA, I just stopped and added the + sign.
I also stopped caring.
Because if the whole alphabet is already there, why bother?
***
I don’t identify as gay anymore.
I’m just #ThePSN.
Peter Solis Nery, human being.
I don’t want you to accord me any gay rights.
Just give me my human rights.
I’ll take care of everything else.

Now, that is my Philippine Independence Day!
That is my Pride!
For everything else, you can suck my…/PN
