Indian nat’l ‘robbed’ over unpaid debt

ILOILO – An Indian national was allegedly robbed by his customer in Barangay Ilaya, Barotac Nuevo on Saturday morning, Aug. 26.

The victim went to collect a debt payment. He alleged that he was suddenly taken into his customer’s house, where his collection of P10,000 was taken.

Alias “Maria,” the cafeteria owner, claimed the Indian entered their house and took her necklace on Aug. 25 in lieu of her unpaid debt.

Marie owed the Indian national P24,000.

The following day, the Indian allegedly demanded payment again, but the owner wasn’t home.

Apprehended were Maria, her three regular customers at the cafeteria, and her compadre.

Gin sugo ka compadre ko ang bata nga tawgan si tatay niya kay ma sulod naman kuno ang Bombay, ti ang tatay, nanawag man siguro sang bulig,” said Maria.

Meanwhile, the victim said he will no longer press charges./PN
