BACOLOD City – An Indian shopkeeper was shot twice in Barangay Poblacion 2, Sagay City, Negros Occidental on Easter Sunday.
The 42-year-old Mandeep Singh was a resident of Armen Apartment in the city’s Barangay Poblacion 1.
He was manning his shop’s counter when was shot twice by a still unidentified gunman, according to Police Lieutenant Colonel Jonel Guadalupe, Sagay City police chief.
The gunman quickly boarded a waiting motorcycle and fled the shop.
Singh sustained gunshot wounds on his face and arm. He was rushed to the Lopez District Farmers Hospital for treatment and later transferred to the South Bacolod Hospital in Bacolod City after his condition was stabilized by doctors.
Police recovered two spent bullet shells of a .45 handgun and a pair of slippers.
The Sagay police has yet to determine the motive behind the shooting./PN
