Indiscriminate firing alarms brgy

ILOILO City – Two unidentified motorcycle-riding persons fired their guns in the air while passing Brgy. Tabuc Suba, Jaro district late Wednesday night, upsetting residents.

Village watchmen (barangay tanod) on duty gave the culprits a chase but failed to catch them.

The incident happened around 11 p.m.

The barangay tanod said a man was driving the motorcycle while his back rider was a woman.

One hour later, the man and woman were at it again, this time firing their guns in front of a cafeteria, also in Brgy. Tabuc Suba.

Yesterday, Chief Insp. Rhea Santos, chief of the Jaro police station, ordered an investigation.

No empty shells of any type of gun were recovered in the two areas where the indiscriminate firing happened. But Santos believes the suspects used .38 revolvers.

She alerted the barangay tanod of Tabuc Suba to be on alert “because they might be the targets considering that the incident happened near their outpost.”/PN
