TROPICAL Storm Vicky has left at least P10.5 million worth of damage to agriculture, according to a preliminary report disclosed by Secretary William Dar on Monday.

Dar said the figure was based on Sunday’s estimate.

He said the Department of Agriculture is ready to provide seedlings, loan assistance and indemnify affected farmers.

Dar, meanwhile, assured the public that the country has enough rice for the next three months.

Halos naka-harvest na ang ating mga magsasaka bago pa dumating ang [bagyong] Vicky,” he said.

The DA chief also gave updates on the prices of other commodities such as pork, fruits, and vegetables.

“Then sa fruits and vegetables natamaan po sila nitong last four typhoons so nagre-recover at dumadami na ang supply natin ng vegetables and fruits.” (GMA News)
