BACOLOD City – Travelers from Iloilo bound for this city are no longer required to secure travel authority or travel pass, according to Vice Mayor El Cid Familiaran.

But they are still required to sign a health declaration form at the port.

Familiaran said passengers are also required to register to the Bacolod City COVID-19 Contact Tracing system.

Leisure travel has also been allowed to resume in the city for travelers from Panay Island.

Familiaran hopes the lifting of travel restrictions will help kick-start business establishments in the city.

Meanwhile, the provincial government of Negros Occidental retained the present health protocol requiring non-Bacolod City residents to undergo swabbing upon arrival. The results will be released within three days.

The provincial government’s health protocols cover both seaports in the province, including Bacolod City and the Bacolod-Silay Airport.

As of Thursday, only OceanJet Fast Ferry Corp. announced its schedule of twice daily services – Bacolod-Iloilo leaving at 8:50 a.m. and Iloilo-Bacolod at 2:30 p.m.

Competitors SuperCat by CHELSEA and Weesam Express also announced the resumption of their trips with Weesam resuming this Saturday followed by SuperCat on Nov. 1.

However, both have yet to announce their schedules./PN
