BORACAY — Another international cruise ship will dock in this island resort.

MS The World will make its first call to Boracay from July 28 to 29, Caticlan port administrator Niven Maquirang said.

Around 200 tourists onboard the ship will cruise-sail, stay overnight, enjoy water sports, dine at fine restaurants, island-hop, or relax along white-sand beaches here.

“From Boracay, the cruise ship will depart to Isla de Gigantes (in Carles, Iloilo) and Cebu” tomorrow night,” Maquirang said.

The largest privately owned residential yacht in the world, The World has 165 residential units and carries between 100 and 300 residents and guests.

It is the first European liner to offer a combination of luxury travel with world-class dining, custom tours, and enriching cultural events.

Residents at sea comprise 130 families from 19 countries throughout North America, Europe, Asia, Australia, South America, and South Africa.

The ship also has world-class facilities and luxurious amenities onboard. It has six restaurants, a library, a fitness center, golf facilities, a full-size tennis court, swimming pools, and spa.

Since it first sailed in 2002, The World has visited more than 900 ports in over 140 countries.

This year, the 644-foot cruise ship will visit more than 100 ports of call in 30 countries for an extensive exploration of New Zealand and Australia, and an enticing journey throughout Asia to China, Japan, Philippines, South Korea, Taiwan, Vietnam, Thailand, and Malaysia, among others.

Next year, The World will embark on an expedition across West Africa, eastern coast of Greenland, and in the Antarctic Peninsula. (Aklan Forum Journal/PN)
