BACOLOD City – The IPM-Construction and Development Corp. remains to be the city government’s contractor for sanitary services.

The city Bids and Awards Committee (BAC) conducted a bidding for garbage hauling and collection at the Bacolod City Government Center yesterday.

The garbage hauling and collection contract covered the period April to December this year. It has a P148.5-million approved budget.

The city government awarded the contract to lone bidder IPM-Construction that offered a bid worth P148,388,285.77.

IPM-Construction is currently providing sanitary services to the city government under a 3-month extended contract (from Jan. 1 to March 31) with a P44-million budget.

BAC chairman Maphilindo Polvora said the new tax reform prompted the city government to increase the budget for sanitary services.

A post-qualification inspection at the IPM-Construction offices in Bacolod and Pasay cities will be conducted next week, added Polvora. It is a part of the bidding process, he said./PN
