ILOILO – The Iloilo Police Provincial Office (IPPO) arrested 72 wanted persons in a week of operation from Dec. 13 to 19.
The Carles municipal police station had the most number of wanted persons caught (seven). The Sara police station had six.
On the other hand, the police stations of Barotac Viejo, Oton and Calinog arrested five wanted persons each.
IPPO director, Police Colonel Gilbert Gorero urged other police stations to do better in the campaign to arrest fugitives.
In a related development, a wanted person in the town of Pototan was arrested on Tuesday in Barangay Bucal, Tanza, Cavite.
Homicide suspect Virgilio Patanao, 44, was taken to the Tanza police station. He was served with an arrest warrant at around 2:30 p.m.
As of press time, it was unclear of Patanao was able to post bail that the court set at P30,000.
The alleged crime was committed in Pototan sometime in 2018.
