ILOILO City – In response to two recent robbery incidents, the Iloilo Police Provincial Office (IPPO) has ramped up its operations against motorcycle-riding criminals.

IPPO director Police Colonel Bayani Razalan has instructed police chiefsto increase their vigilance, particularly targeting motorcycles, and has ordered additional personnel deployments during nighttime.

The intensified security measures, including more frequent checkpoints, come after robberies on June 24 in the towns of Oton and Pavia.

In Oton, a 40-year-old woman was robbed of her phone at 3:30 a.m. in Barangay Poblacion West.

In a separate incident, 31-year-old Dave was robbed of his phone and P1,200 by two suspects who have since been charged with robbery with force and intimidation.
