ILOILO City – The Iloilo Police Provincial Office (IPPO) has transferred to its new headquarters in Barangay Sablogon, Passi City, Iloilo.
Its previous headquarters was at Camp Francisco U. Sumagasay Sr. in the municipality of Santa Barbara.
The inauguration ceremony yesterday was spearheaded by Police Regional Office 6 (PRO-6) director Brigadier General Jack Wanky and IPPO officer-in-charge director Colonel Bayani Razalan.
Also gracing the event were Provincial Administrator Raul Banias who represented Gov. Arthur Defensor Jr. and Passi City’s Mayor Stephen Palmares.
The construction of the new building was funded by the Philippine National Police headquarters.
Wanky, in his message, expressed gratitude to the Passi City Government for donating two hectares of lot for the new IPPO building.
“We assured that the police would do their best to have more effective services to the community. We also commit to become more accessible and responsive to the needs of the people,” Wanky added.
Banias, for his part, said that Defensor is fully supportive of the IPPO and vowed to finance some office facilities.
“The governor will help provide any needs of the police for essential amenities to ensure the comfort and efficiency of our police force,” Banias said.
Razalan, meanwhile, is honored that the IPPO has now a better and more convenient working place.
“I am thankful for the support of the higher command, the local government of Passi City, Iloilo governor Defensor, and other stakeholders for this new building,” he added./PN
