IPPO nets 16 fugitives in a day

ILOILO – Sixteen persons with pending arrest warrants in this province were arrested on April 19, according to the Iloilo Police Provincial Office (IPPO).

The Santa Barbara municipal police station served arrest warrants to three persons facing “grave oral defamation” charges.

In Carles, cops arrested two persons accused for violation of Republic Act 8550, or illegal fishing.

Carles police chief, Major Nestor Bacuyag identified the arrested persons as Reyland Bantillo, 27, of Barangay Binolwangan, Carles and Reman Dela Rosa, 20, of Barangay Pantalan, Carles.

They were arrested at 11 a.m.

Bacuyag said they were intensifying their campaign against illegal fishing in Carles.

Meanwhile, police from the towns of Cabatuan, Barotac Nuevo, Pavia, Dingle, Dueñas, Leganes, San Enrique, Concepcion, Lemery, and San Miguel, and Passi City nabbed one wanted person each.
