ILOILO City – The Iloilo Police Provincial Office (IPPO) arrested 73 wanted persons and 38 illegal fishers from March 4 to 13.
IPPO record showed of the 73, 11 belonged to the Top 10 lists of wanted persons.
In the campaign against illegal fishing, 38 were apprehended in 17 operations. The Concepcion police station conducted the most number of operations at eight.
Moreover, IPPO arrested 13 drug suspects in 13 buy-bust operations conducted by the Tigbauan, Leganes, Pavia, San Miguel, Santa Barbara, Pototan, Barotac Nuevo, Dingle, San Enrique, Concepcion, Estancia, San Rafael, and Sara police stations.
In the campaign against illegal gambling, 22 were arrested.
Also, four individuals were caught for illegal possession of firearms, and 23 loose firearms and three explosives were surrendered to the police.
Police Colonel Ronaldo Palomo, IPPO director, congratulated his men, adding that the police chiefs delivered his marching orders.
“My men really responded to my instructions but I still encourage them to do more. Those police stations that have no accomplishments should exert more effort,” Palomo said./PN
