IPPO nets P500K ‘shabu’, 111 fugitives in May

ILOILO – The Iloilo Police Provincial Office (IPPO) seized over P500,000 worth of shabu and arrested 111 wanted persons last month.

From May 1 to 30, 17 drug operations were conducted, leading to the confiscation of 63.812 grams of shabu valued at P536,421.60 and the arrest of 27 drug suspects.

In the same month, a total of 111 wanted persons were arrested, of whom 38 belonged to the top 10 most wanted persons at the municipal, provincial and regional levels.

Eight gun owners were arrested and five unlicensed guns were confiscated at checkpoints, in the implementation of search warrants and other police operations.

Meanwhile, 63 firearms were surrendered through the Tokhang Kontra Armas Luthang (TKAL).

On illegal gambling, nine operations were conducted, which resulted in the arrest of 20 persons and the confiscation of P4,605 in bet money.

Two anti-timber poaching operations also resulted in the arrest of three persons and the confiscation of P21,200 worth of lumber.

Further, 61 fisherfolks were apprehended, and P170,250 worth of marine products were confiscated from 27 illegal fishing operations.

The IPPO’s strict implementation of the provincial ordinance against illegal quarrying resulted in the apprehension of 45 persons and the impoundment of 41 delivery trucks.

Provincial top cop Colonel Ronaldo P. Palomo said he is satisfied with the IPPO’s accomplishments.

“I have seen the numbers. Our operational accomplishments bespeak of our relentless efforts to make our province safer and more peaceful,” Palomo said./PN
