ILOILO City – The Iloilo Police Provincial Office (IPPO) reported significant success in its anti-crime operations, seizing P13.1 million worth of illegal drugs and arresting 61 individuals over a 45-day period. From January 1 to February 14, IPPO conducted 43 drug-related operations, resulting in the confiscation of 1,933.48 grams of shabu, valued at P13,147,683.72.
Among those arrested were 11 high-value targets and 50 street-level drug offenders.
In addition to its drug operations, IPPO carried out 131 fugitive-related actions, leading to the capture of 131 wanted persons, including 37 most wanted individuals.
IPPO also intensified its campaign against illegal gambling, conducting 17 operations that led to the arrest of 24 individuals and the seizure of P8,756 worth of bets.
Additionally, 14 operations targeting the proliferation of loose firearms led to the arrest of 14 individuals and the confiscation of 14 firearms. A total of 52 firearms were voluntarily surrendered, while 16 others were deposited for safekeeping.
In efforts to protect Iloilo’s marine resources, the IPPO conducted 37 operations, resulting in 101 arrests and the apprehension of 54 fishing boats. Confiscated fish from these operations were valued at P52,280.
IPPO director Police Colonel Bayani Razalan commended the dedication of IPPO personnel and the cooperation of the Ilonggo community in maintaining peace and order.
“These achievements reflect the relentless efforts of our men and women in uniform, as well as the invaluable support of the Ilonggo community. The fight against crime is a shared responsibility, and our success in these operations is proof that strong police-community collaboration leads to a safer Iloilo,” Razalan said.
