BACOLOD City – The Ignacio Lacson Arroyo, Sr. Memorial District Hospital in Isabela, Negros Occidental received a donation certificate worth P2.5 million for desktop computers, medical equipment and instruments.

Deputy House Speaker and former president Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo led the signing of the donation certificate on Monday morning, Oct. 24 – the birthday of her late brother-in-law, 5th District Rep. Ignacio “Iggy” Arroyo. Also with here were former first gentleman Mike Arroyo and former 5th District Rep. Marilou Arroyo.

The donation was made by Next Generation Advocate Foundation PH, Inc. to the hospital, which was one of the legacy projects of the late congressman.

During her presidency, Arroyo helped in the realization of the project.

She added that the Next Generation Advocacy Foundation was organized during the presidential campaign of President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos, Jr. and that it is called such because the members are of the next generation, with Princess Go as the president and Dina Arroyo Tantoco as one of the active members.

Tantoco, daughter of the late congressman, said the 5th District is very close to their hearts, which is why the foundation is going to give the equipment to the hospital named after their grandfather.

“It’s a good thing to give back as the people of the district have always had a place in our hearts,” she added.

Meanwhile, former Bacolod City councilor Ricardo Tan, who is a long-time ally of the Arroyos, said the kindness and legacies of the late congressman Iggy Arroyo will be remembered.

Gov. Eugenio Jose Lacson was also present during the signing of the certificate of donation./PN
