BACOLOD City – The Negros Occidental town of Isabela is among the 16 venues of the nationwide federalism rally on June 2.
Mayor Joselito Malabor said one of the rallies will be from Canlaon City, Negros Oriental to Isabela.
A boodle fight will follow at the municipal public plaza at noontime. The program will start at 2 p.m.
Members of the Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG)-accredited organizations will join the rally. They will also distribute information and education campaign materials about federalism.
Some DILG top officials may also attend, Malabor said.
In September last year, an three-day federalism convention was held at the Socio-Cultural Center in Isabela. It was attended by about 600 people.
Before the convention, the Sangguniang Bayan of Isabela has approved a resolution that backs the proposed shift to a federal form to government and the creation of the “Federal State of Negros.”/PN
