ILOILO – Graduates of Iloilo Science and Technology University (ISAT-U) topped the April 2023 Electronics Engineering Licensure Examination and Electronics Technician Licensure Examination.
Joshua Aniken Garcia Acusta ranked first in the electronics engineers licensure exam with an 88.60 percent rating, based on results released by the Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) on Wednesday, April 26.
He is the only one from Western Visayas in the top 10.
Dr. Raul F. Muyong, president of ISAT-U, said the university will give a P100,000 cash incentive to Acusta.
“Ginkalipay gid namon ang kadungganan nga ginhatag sa amon ni Engr. Joshua Aniken Garcia Acusta nga nag-number one sa electronics engineering licensure examination,” said Muyong in an interview with DYRI RMN Iloilo.
Muyong was also delighted that another graduate of the university ranked fourth in the electronics technician licensure examination.
Dante John Sudario Robles got an 87 percent rating.
“Ang bilog nga university subong nagakalipay sa dugang nga dungog nga ginhatag,” added Muyong.
Robles will receive a P25,000 cash incentive from ISAT-U.
Muyong said ISAT-U has a policy of giving cash incentives to topnotchers in every board exam.
The university will also hold a testimonial dinner and program to honor the topnotchers.
“Ining pag-top naton sa electronics engineering licensure examination kag electronics technician licensure examination mangin inspirasyon sa tanan nga estudyante sang ISAT University nga mangin seryoso sa ila pagtuon,” said Muyong.
The PRC announced on Wednesday night that 983 out of 2,935 passed the 2023 Electronics Engineers Licensure Examination and 1,641 out of 2,227 passed the Electronics Technicians Licensure Examination.
Why is ISAT-U known for engineering courses?
According to Muyong, since studying at ISAT-U is free, many students want to enter here. But the university only chooses “the best” and only accepts students based on the absorptive capacity of the university.
He explained that not everyone could study at ISAT-U because of the limited facilities, and to ensure quality education.
Meantime, this is not the first time that ISAT-U graduates have topped the board examination.
