ILOILO City – Mayors Isko Moreno (Manila) and Sara Duterte-Carpio (Davao City), both gunning for president and vice present, respectively, are visiting Iloilo today.

Vice Mayor Jesry Palmares of Passi City, the provincial chairman of Lakas-CMD (Lakas-Christian Muslim Democrats) of which Duterte is the chairman, confirmed to Panay News the vice presidential bet’s arrival.

According to Palmares, Duterte would first meet and greet councilors in their Philippine Councilors League meeeting at the Iloilo Convention Center (ICC) in Mandurriao district.

She would then have a fellowship with mayors of Iloilo province in a private hotel here.

More or less 30 mayors will attend, according to Palmares.

He did not disclose who they were.

The presidential daughter’s time of arrival was yet to be confirmed, as of press time.

“This is more of fellowship lang gid and getting to know each other. Daw wala pa sia sang familiarization sa tanan nga mayors,” said Palmares.

Duterte would also have a fellowship with Iloilo’s vice mayors.

Palmares believed that the “sympathy caravan” for Duterte and running mate Bongbong Marcos on Saturday (Dec. 11) probably reached Duterte.

Accompanying Duterte today is House Majority Leader Martin Romualdez (Leyte).

Former senator and presidential aspirant Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. has not confirmed attendance.

Mayors and vice mayors from the provinces of Guimaras, Antique, Aklan, and Capiz may also join Duterte.

On the other hand, Moreno is scheduled to arrive today at the Iloilo Airport via a private jet. A helicopter will take him to San Joaquin town where he will join a family gathering.

He will have an overnight stay in Iloilo.

On Dec. 15, he will join the locals in an early morning coffee at the La Paz market.

At 10 a.m., he will have a courtesy call to Iloilo City’s Mayor Jerry Treñas and will visit barangays Bakhaw and Bolilao in Mandurriao.
