ROXAS City – For the first time, street lights were put up in the island barangay of Olotayan here.
Residents rejoiced.
The lights would be of great help to fishermen setting out to sea late into the night and return just before dawn.
“Kun gab-i mahapos na.
Olotayan Island is known as the “Little Boracay” of Roxas City.
From Banica Pier in mainland Roxas City, travel time to the island takes about 45 minutes to one hour.
According to Mayor Ronnie Dadivas, personnel of the city’s Electrical Division started working on the streetlights Tuesday last week.
