‘It Must Have Been Love’ singer Marie Fredriksson passes away

MARIE Fredriksson of Roxette, the duo behind hit song “It Must Have Been Love,” has died at the age of 61.

“It is with great sadness we have to announce that Marie Fredriksson of Roxette has passed away in the morning of Dec. 9, following a 17-year long battle with cancer,” wrote her manager in a statement.

Fredriksson, who rose to fame in the 90s through the hit “It Must Have Been Love,” has been diagnosed with a brain tumor in 2002.

In 2010, she returned to the studio and went on tour until her doctor advised her to stop later on.

Apart from “It Must Have Been Love,” Roxette is also known for hits like “Listen To Your Heart,” “Spending My Time,” and “How Do You Do.”

Composed of Fredriksson and guitarist Per Gessle, Roxette released their last studio album called “Good Karma” in 2016. (Push)
