BACOLOD City – Items worth around P78,000 were stolen from a room in boardinghouse in Barangay Mandalagan, a police report showed.

The 23-year-old Arndee Mae Liraza of Ilog, Negros Occidental told officers from Police Station 3 that her wristwatches, iPad, camera, and sunglasses went missing on Thursday.

Police investigation revealed that the 20-year-old John Francis Lingco of Barangay 3 carted away the items.

Liraza – who works as a hotel receptionist – was not in her room that day.

According to the investigators, Lingco destroyed the room’s padlock to gain entry.

A witness saw Lingco leaving the room, they added.

Police recovered all the lost items from Lingco.

Lingco was arrested and now detained at the Police Station 3 lockup facility. He was facing a robbery charge./PN
