‘I’ve stopped being angry’: Mending Kris ponders future

Kris Aquino

WITH the discovery that she has been stricken with an autoimmune disease, 2018 proved to be a fork in the road for Kris Aquino.

The actress has bravely confronted her condition – known as chronic spontaneous urticarial – since she first announced she was dealing with it in October.

On Facebook and Instagram on Tuesday, Aquino said she looked at this year as the time she “defined who I am and what I’m made of.”

“What has changed in me is that I’ve stopped being angry that this had to happen because I am thankful it isn’t rheumatoid arthritis which I would never have survived,” Aquino wrote.

In the same post, Aquino said a person who had been a part of her family’s life had told her son, Bimby, “that if our endorsements knew the extent of his mama’s health worries, she’d lose her contracts.”

She said she chose to reveal her condition because she didn’t want those around her “to be burdened by what is primarily my battle.”

“My doctors have reassured me for as long as I am obedient about taking all my medication, religious about not exceeding my allowed work hours, and choosing our shoot locations carefully I can still look forward to a fulfilling life,” Aquino added. (ABS-CBN News)
